Cardiology Physician Job Details

• Shift: 12-hour day shifts, 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., with weeknight beeper call
• Shifts per Week: Schedule varies based on coverage needs; minimum commitment is two weeks per month
• Guaranteed Hours: 12 hours per day
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $6,480-$7,670
• Patient Volume: Approximately 5-10 patients per shift
• Practice Setting: Inpatient cardiology and ICU coverage
• Trauma Level: Level II

Locum Tenens Cardiology Physician Requirements

• At least 1 year of physician experience in cardiology or a related inpatient setting
• Board certification required
• Active Washington physician license or eligibility through the Interstate Medical Licensure Compact (IMLC)
• Active DEA registration
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications
• Inpatient cardiology and ICU experience
• Clinical proficiency in non-invasive cardiology, echocardiography, transesophageal echocardiography (TEE), and nuclear cardiology
• Ability to provide daily rounding, inpatient consultation, and overnight call coverage
• Professional credentials and practice history must meet temporary privileging requirements

Inpatient Cardiology Physician Responsibilities

• Evaluate and manage hospitalized cardiology patients and ICU patients
• Provide daily inpatient rounding and clinical consultations
• Cover 12-hour daytime shifts from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
• Respond to weeknight beeper call following the daytime shift
• Interpret and utilize echocardiography, TEE, and nuclear cardiology studies in patient care
• Collaborate with hospitalists, intensivists, nursing staff, and other members of the care team
• Manage an estimated daily patient volume of 5-10 encounters
• Document assessments, treatment plans, and follow-up recommendations accurately and promptly
