Cardiology Physician Job Details

• Expected Patient Volume: Approximately 10-12 patient encounters per shift
• Department Capacity: Four cardiology beds

Cardiology Physician Job Requirements

• Physician credentials with training and clinical experience in internal medicine and cardiology
• Completion of cardiology fellowship training
• At least 1 year of relevant cardiology experience
• Current authorization to practice medicine in Virginia
• Current ABLS, ACLS, ATLS, and BLS certifications
• Clinical proficiency in outpatient cardiology, inpatient cardiology, ICU care, and non-invasive cardiology
• Experience with echocardiography, transesophageal echocardiography, nuclear cardiology, and STEMI management
• Experience with electrophysiology services, including cardiac ablation, permanent pacemaker placement, and implantable cardioverter-defibrillator placement

Cardiology Physician Responsibilities

• Evaluate, diagnose, and manage cardiology patients in outpatient, inpatient, and intensive care settings
• Provide comprehensive cardiac care for approximately 10-12 patient encounters per shift
• Interpret and use echocardiography, transesophageal echocardiography, and nuclear cardiology studies to guide patient management
• Assess and treat patients experiencing acute coronary syndromes, including STEMI presentations
• Provide electrophysiology-related care involving cardiac ablation, permanent pacemakers, and implantable cardioverter-defibrillators
• Collaborate with the clinical care team to support safe, timely, and evidence-based cardiology care
