# Cardiovascular Intensivist opening in Cincinnati, OHFull-Time Cardiovascular Critical Care 28-Bed CVICU 12-Hour Shifts The Heart and Vascular Institute in Cincinnati is seeking a fellowship-trained Critical Care Medicine physician to join a multidisciplinary cardiovascular intensivist team staffing a 28-bed CVICU. The practice provides care for complex cardiac and critical care patients, including cardiogenic shock, mechanical circulatory support, heart transplantation and complex cardiothoracic conditions.Opportunity Highlights:

• Full-time Cardiovascular Intensivist / Cardiac Critical Care opportunity
• Directly employed physician position
• 28-bed CVICU
• Approximately 14-16 in-house 12-hour shifts per month
• Day shifts: 7 a.m.-7 p.m.
• Night shifts: 7 p.m.-7 a.m.
• Shifts are typically grouped consecutively to provide continuity of care, such as a 7-on/7-off model
• 2 physicians during the day and 1 physician at night
• APP support with 3 APPs during the day and 2 at night
• Clinical pharmacy support
• Open CVICU with collaborative communication among intensivists, heart failure cardiology, cardiac surgery and cardiac transplant surgery
• Manage a broad range of critical illness and cardiac conditions, including severe valvular disease, AMI, cardiogenic shock, dissections, mechanical cardiac support, heart transplantation and chronic heart failure
• Advanced programs in cardiogenic shock, mechanical circulatory support, LVAD, ECMO and heart transplantation
• Top 10 LVAD and Impella center by volume in 2025
• ELSO Gold Level Center of Excellence
• SCCM Center of Excellence program participant
• More than 1,000 cardiopulmonary bypass cases annually
• Structural heart program including TMVR, TTVR, TAVR and pulmonary valve interventions
• ACGME-accredited Internal Medicine and Cardiology fellowship programs

• Potential consideration for Division Director, CVICU, for appropriately qualified and experienced physicians
• PTO: 40 days
Compensation and Benefits:

Candidate Requirements:
• Fellowship training in Critical Care Medicine
• Board certified or board eligible in Critical Care Medicine
• Eligibility for an Ohio medical license
• DEA certificate
• Additional training and experience with ECMO, LVAD and cardiac transplantation desired
• Experience managing patients in the immediate postoperative period following heart transplantation preferred
• Experience in perioperative care of cardiothoracic surgery patients preferred
