Work Schedule

4x10s, (Mon, Wed, Thu, Fri) CALL REQUIRED: 3-4 weekdays ); 1 weekend 1st call and 1 weekend 2nd call (24hrs )

Position Summary

The Surgical Technologist plays a vital role in the intraoperative phase of patient care, assisting surgeons and nursing staff to ensure safe, efficient surgical procedures. This position is responsible for maintaining a sterile environment, preparing surgical instruments and supplies, anticipating the needs of the surgical team, and supporting positive patient outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Prepare operating rooms, instruments, equipment, and sterile supplies for surgical procedures
• Scrub and assist during surgeries while maintaining sterile technique
• Anticipate surgeon and surgical team needs throughout procedures
• Perform surgical counts of instruments, sharps, and sponges according to policy
• Assist with patient positioning, draping, and operative site preparation
• Handle and process surgical specimens according to protocol
• Ensure proper functioning of surgical instruments and equipment
• Clean and restock operating rooms following procedures
• Prepare contaminated instruments for transport and sterilization
• Adhere to AORN, OSHA, infection control, and hospital safety standards

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of Surgical Tech experience
• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) through NBSTSA or NCCT
• Current BLS Certification (AHA Only)
• Experience in: Trauma Orthopedics General Surgery Plastics ENT Urology Robotics
