Overview

In this role, you will ensure stability, availability, and performance of CICS services in a large IBM Mainframe environment. You will operate, maintain, and enhance critical CICS systems, collaborating with development and support teams to deliver reliable solutions. You will lead incident resolution and drive improvements through automation and modernization. This position offers remote options with potential on-site engagement, focusing on high-availability, security, and compliance in mission-critical settings.

Responsibilities
  • Install, configure, administer, maintain, and support CICS systems software
  • Create and manage CICS resource definitions and system configurations
  • Support production CICS environments and resolve incidents out of hours
  • Test and implement new CICS releases and maintenance updates
  • Provide Level 2/3 support for applications using CICS services
  • Lead problem determination, root cause analysis, and recovery during critical incidents
  • Design and implement new technology to improve availability and efficiency
  • Monitor performance and resources to ensure optimal service levels
  • Develop and maintain backup, recovery, and business continuity procedures
  • Administer access controls with RACF and ACF2
  • Capacity planning and performance tuning for CICS environments
  • Ensure data security, recovery, and compliance
  • Support change and release management, and maintain technical documentation
Key requirements
  • Several years of Mainframe Systems Programming experience with CICS administration
  • Experience supporting large-scale, mission-critical CICS environments
  • Experience with CICS Transaction Server installation, customization, upgrade, maintenance, and troubleshooting
  • Exposure to Mainframe Sysplex and high availability configurations
  • Hands-on: CICS Transaction Server, SMP/E, z/OS, JCL, TSO/ISPF, SDSF, RACF
  • Ability to analyze and resolve complex system issues
  • Experience in production-critical systems with stringent availability requirements
  • Strong performance management and capacity planning understanding
  • Excellent troubleshooting and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and with global teams
