Overview

In this role you will ensure stability, availability, and performance of CICS in a large IBM Mainframe environment. You will work across incident resolution, change management, and operational support to deliver robust CICS services. The position blends system programming, deployment planning, and collaboration with development and support teams to drive reliability and continuous improvement. This is a globally distributed team role with potential remote work and occasional in-person requirements.

Responsibilities
  • Install, configure, administer, and maintain CICS systems software
  • Create and manage CICS resource definitions and configurations
  • Support production CICS environments and handle out-of-hours incidents
  • Install, test, and implement new releases and updates for CICS TS
  • Provide Level 2/3 support for applications using CICS
  • Lead problem determination, root cause analysis, and recovery during incidents
  • Design and implement new tech solutions to improve availability and efficiency
  • Monitor performance and resources to meet service levels
  • Develop and maintain backup, recovery, and business continuity procedures
  • Administer RACF/ACF2 for security
  • Conduct capacity planning and performance tuning
  • Ensure data security, recovery, and compliance
  • Support change and release management
  • Create technical documentation and procedures
Key requirements
  • Multiple years of Mainframe Systems Programming experience with CICS administration and support
  • Experience with large-scale CICS environments
  • Experience installing, upgrading, configuring, and troubleshooting CICS TS
  • Exposure to Mainframe Sysplex and HA configurations
  • Hands-on CICS TS, SMP/E, z/OS, JCL, TSO/ISPF, SDSF, RACF
  • Experience supporting production-critical systems with high availability requirements
