In this role you contribute to concept studies and design packages that feed into planning applications and construction documentation. You will work on diverse development projects across sectors, supporting multiple initiatives concurrently. - Contribute to concept studies, strategies and drawing packages advancing to planning submissions and construction issue
- Support multiple development projects across sectors and clients
- Engage with clients and manage stakeholders; liaise with internal and external design teams
- Deliver tasks within budget, programme, technical standards and legal requirements
- Collaborate across the project lifecycle from land acquisition to scheme implementation
- Develop infrastructure masterplans, site appraisals, technical reports and construction drawings under supervision
- Prepare drawings for contract documentation and technical approvals
- Assist with liaising with highways, water, statutory authorities to obtain outline and detailed approvals and agreements
- Knowledge of highway design, drainage strategy and design, flood risk assessment and management, utility design and planning
- Understanding of hydraulics, hydrology, geotechnics and building structures (desirable)
- Experience producing infrastructure masterplans, site appraisals, technical reports and design calculations
- Familiarity with design codes and contract documentation for approvals (Water UK, SUDS, Design Manuals)
- Ability to liaise with clients, co-professionals and authorities to obtain approvals
- Awareness of legal processes, planning and adoption procedures for sewers, SuDS, highways and utilities
- Experience with relevant software: Info Drainage, Micro Drainage, AutoCAD, Civil 3D and/or PDS
- Postgraduate (or equivalent) experience and working towards Chartership or equivalent
