In this role you contribute to concept studies and drawing packages, advancing planning applications and construction delivery. You work across a range of development projects, manage multiple assignments, and collaborate with the Cambridge team to grow technical capabilities and career progression. You engage clients and stakeholders and coordinate design teams to meet budgets, schedules, standards, and legal requirements. You help shape sustainable development across public/private sectors while delivering multi-disciplinary design from concept to construction. - Deliver tasks within budget, schedule, technical standards and legal requirements
- Support technical capability development and career progression within the Cambridge team
- Assist in obtaining outline and detailed technical approvals and statutory agreements
- Produce masterplans, site appraisals, technical reports, design calculations and construction drawings under supervision
- Knowledge of highway design, drainage strategy, flood risk assessment and management, utility design and planning
- Understanding of hydraulics, hydrology, geotechnics and building structures (desirable)
- Familiarity with construction design stages and procedures
- Ability to produce masterplans, site appraisals, technical reports, design calculations and construction drawings
- Knowledge of design codes (Water UK Sewerage Sector Guidance, Design Manual for Roads & Bridges, Manual for Streets, Local Authority Design Guidance)
- Experience liaising with clients, co-professionals, and authorities to secure technical approvals
- Awareness of legal processes, design software, consents, and contract procedures for sewer, SuDS, highways
- Knowledge of financial and contractual aspects of planning, bidding, and delivery of projects
- Postgraduate experience and working towards Chartership or equivalent experience
