Overview

In this role you will drive reliability, serviceability, and customer experience for Waters Clinical and IVD systems. You will partner across engineering, manufacturing, quality and service to influence product strategy and lifecycle performance. You’ll apply data-driven methods to monitor reliability, diagnose root causes and implement sustainable improvements. You’ll communicate insights to stakeholders and help shape system architecture early in development. This is a cross-functional, impact-focused opportunity in a global clinical laboratory context.

Responsibilities
  • Lead initiatives to improve reliability, serviceability and customer experience across Waters Clinical and IVD systems
  • Collaborate with systems engineering, hardware, software, manufacturing, quality and service teams to identify lifecycle improvement opportunities
  • Analyze performance, service and customer data to identify trends, root causes and drive strategic improvements for uptime and robustness
  • Develop methods for performance monitoring, predictive analytics and system health assessment
  • Influence system architecture and design decisions to embed reliability early in development
  • Lead investigations into complex technical issues and coordinate sustainable correctives and preventative actions
  • Translate complex data into actionable recommendations for technical and business stakeholders
Key requirements
  • Significant experience in systems engineering, product development or reliability engineering involving complex technical products
  • Experience with integrated hardware, software, electronics, mechanics and automation technologies
  • Proven track record of cross-functional leadership and delivering measurable product improvements
  • Experience using field performance data or customer insights to influence engineering decisions
  • Experience working across engineering, quality, manufacturing and service organisations
  • Desirable: experience in diagnostics, medical devices, laboratory automation or regulated environments
  • Strong communication and collaboration

  • Mentoring and guiding others
  • Reliability engineering principles (FMEA, risk assessment, fault tree analysis, root cause analysis)
  • Systems thinking across hardware, software, workflows and users
  • Data analysis and visualization (Python, Power BI, Minitab, R, MATLAB, Excel)
