Overview

In this Cloud Architect role, you lead defence cloud initiatives from strategy to deployed environments. You will help digitise defence with secure, scalable cloud platforms and modern micro-service architectures. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional experts to shape cloud strategy, drive automation, and support client conversations and proposals. The position blends cutting-edge cloud technologies with traditional defence functions, offering meaningful impact in a security-critical domain.

Responsibilities
  • guide clients through cloud journey from strategy to production-ready environments
  • build robust, scalable cloud platforms enabling modern micro-services and automation
  • design and implement modern, agile cloud environments
  • deliver across architecture design, operations, prototyping, development and testing depending on project size
  • collaborate with cloud thought leaders, contribute to RFPs and business development, build client relationships
Key requirements
  • DV (Developed Vetting) clearance
  • proven ability to apply knowledge across client scenarios under pressure
  • strong problem solving and delivery capabilities
  • ability to communicate complex technical topics to non-technical audiences
  • experience with cloud architecture and engineering across major platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP, OCI)
  • proficiency with container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift, Rancher, Swarm)
  • experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, ARM, GCP CDM)
  • CI/CD, DevOps philosophy and toolchains
  • automation using Ansible, SaltStack, Puppet, PowerShell
  • knowledge of security and performance considerations in digital systems
  • experience defining technical and non-functional requirements
  • cloud environment design and implementation
  • cloud strategy and operating models
  • business case development for cloud investments
  • vendor/integration relationships (AWS, Azure, GCP)
