Cloud Data Architect - AWS-focused - Technology Consulting

As a Cloud Data Architect at BIP xTech, you shape modern, scalable data platforms across hybrid, on-premise and cloud environments. You’ll translate client needs into robust architectures supporting analytics, AI use cases, and secure data management. You’ll work with multiple cloud providers, influence technology choices, and create clear architectural artefacts. This client-facing role combines deep technical design with practical, scalable solutions that balance performance and maintainability.

• Design scalable, secure cloud-based data platforms across hybrid and multi-cloud environments
• Translate business and technical requirements into effective data architectures
• Define architectural patterns, data flows, and technology choices
• Create architecture diagrams, workflows and technical documentation
• Support analytics, reporting, and AI-enabled use cases with modern data platforms
• Architect batch and real-time data pipelines using ETL/ELT approaches
• Integrate cloud-native technologies across AWS, Azure and Google Cloud Platform
• Design data lakes, data warehouses, lakehouses and distributed data architectures
• Incorporate governance, data quality, metadata management, and security principles
• Collaborate with engineering, analytics, data science and AI teams to support downstream use cases
• Evaluate technologies and approaches balancing technical quality, delivery constraints and commercial considerations
• Engage with clients, vendors and partners to shape and deliver solutions
• Support discovery, solution shaping, estimation and architecture activities for new opportunities
• Contribute to reusable frameworks, accelerators, standards and best practices
• Stay current with emerging technologies and their relevance to client challenges

• Proven experience designing and architecting modern cloud-based data platforms
• Strong experience with hybrid, multi-cloud or enterprise environments
• Deep knowledge of modern data platform and data warehouse architecture
• Solid understanding of data modelling and data processing for batch and real-time use cases
• Experience with at least one major cloud platform (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
• Understanding of cloud-native data services in modern architectures
• Experience designing robust batch and streaming data pipelines
• Expertise in ETL and ELT patterns and their use
• Experience with structured and unstructured data
• Proficiency in SQL, PL/SQL, Python, Java, Ruby or R
• Experience with BigQuery, Databricks, Snowflake, MongoDB, Hadoop, Redis, Kafka or similar
• Ability to select technologies based on scalability, performance, security, interoperability and business needs
• Experience documenting architectures through diagrams and technical docs
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
• Experience in consulting, professional services or complex delivery environments
• Preferred certifications in Google Cloud, Azure, AWS, Databricks (mentioned as desirable)
