Build secure, scalable data platforms as a Data Engineer at Aviso, working remotely or from Vancouver and Toronto offices. Use Azure, Python, and SQL.

This twelve-month Data Engineer position sits within Aviso’s Data and Analytics Group. Reporting to the Senior Director, Data Platform Delivery and Engineering, you will collaborate with Development, Security, and TSP Ops teams. The work supports data and software products deployed on-premise and in the cloud.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement data and software solutions
  • Build Azure cloud applications and services
  • Apply architectural principles to improve system scalability
  • Collaborate on requirements, impacts, planning, and estimates
  • Create solution documents and deployment diagrams

Requirements:

  • Three or more years in data engineering or software development
  • Degree, diploma, or applicable software development experience
  • Hands-on Azure Platform services experience
  • Understanding of DevSecOps, Docker, and Infrastructure-as-Code
  • Fluent English; French bilingual skills are an asset
