Overview

Join our Data Platform team to support and evolve cloud-based database platforms in AWS. You’ll work with engineers to deliver resilient, secure, and scalable systems, while improving performance and reliability. You’ll automate operations, contribute to infrastructure as code, and help ensure backup, recovery, and business continuity. This role blends cloud, database, and automation work to support high-volume, mission-critical services. A strong opportunity to shape a cloud-first data platform and grow alongside experienced peers.

Responsibilities
  • Operate and evolve highly available cloud database platforms hosted in AWS
  • Design and implement scalable, resilient, and secure systems
  • Investigate and resolve complex technical challenges with senior engineers
  • Monitor, analyse, and optimise database and platform performance
  • Automate operational processes using Infrastructure as Code and DevOps practices
  • Support backup, recovery and business continuity capabilities
  • Evaluate and introduce new technologies to improve performance, stability, and security
  • Collaborate with architects, developers, security teams, and stakeholders
Key requirements
  • Experience in database engineering, cloud platform operations, or related infrastructure engineering
  • AWS
  • MySQL and Aurora
  • Database monitoring, troubleshooting, performance tuning, backup and recovery
  • Terraform and Ansible
  • Linux administration and scripting or programming skills, ideally Python
  • Git
  • Security best practices in platform design and operations
