Overview

In this role you will own the full lifecycle of data transformation applications, from writing clean Python to designing scalable AWS infrastructure. You will work within a cloud engineering team to deliver real-time, high-throughput data solutions. You’ll build and operate secure cloud infrastructure and automated pipelines, enabling fast, reliable data processing. This opportunity offers end-to-end ownership and exposure to the latest AWS technologies in a collaborative Southwest UK setting.

Responsibilities
  • Design, build and maintain Python applications for real-time data transformation
  • Provision and scale AWS infrastructure using Terraform
  • Architect cost-efficient, low-latency, high-throughput solutions
  • Deploy serverless and containerised workloads (Lambda, ECS, EC2, SQS, S3, RDS)
  • Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated testing, builds and deployments
  • Set up monitoring and logging with CloudWatch and AWS X-Ray
Key requirements
  • Strong background in Python development with hands-on AWS infrastructure experience
  • Hands-on experience with S3, Lambda, ECS, SQS, RDS and EC2
  • Proven experience deploying environments with Terraform
  • Experience with Docker and container orchestration such as ECS
  • Familiarity with data transformation strategies and high-volume data streams
  • Solid Git and CI/CD practices (desirable)
