Cloud Engineer, Forensic & Financial Crime Technology Advisory and Data Analytics

As a Senior Cloud Architect in Deloitte’s Financial Crime Technology Advisory and Data Analytics team, you’ll design, build and operate secure cloud platforms at scale for regulated financial clients. You lead end-to-end architecture decisions, supervise code and infrastructure delivery, and work directly in client environments to balance security, resilience and cost. You’ll mentor engineers, shape reusable assets, and contribute to cutting-edge data and AI pipelines. • Own end-to-end solution and platform architecture across compute, storage, data, networking, and identity; produce target-state designs and ADRs
• Design and implement secure landing zones and multi-account topologies with hub-and-spoke networking and private connectivity
• Build and operate Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Bicep/ARM or CloudFormation) with modular components and guardrails
• Design and deploy containerised/serverless workloads (Kubernetes AKS/EKS/GKE; serverless platforms) with reliability patterns
• Create CI/CD and GitOps pipelines (GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, Argo CD/Flux) with automated testing and security scans
• Architect data/AI platforms (data lakes/lakehouses, warehouses, streaming) and integrate AI services (Azure OpenAI, Bedrock, Vertex AI)
• Ensure reliability and observability (SLOs/SLIs, OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, CloudWatch) and lead incident response and DR exercises
• Embed security by design (IAM, encryption, private endpoints, data residency, GDPR/FS obligations) and FinOps for cost optimisation
• Provide hands-on technical leadership, set engineering standards, mentor engineers, and manage technical risk
• Evaluate and prototype new cloud/AI services and contribute to reusable assets and accelerators

• Proven design and operation experience of production cloud solutions in at least one major cloud (Azure, AWS, GCP)
• Strong architecture fundamentals and trade-off skills in regulated environments
• Expert-level Infrastructure as Code (Terraform and/or Bicep/ARM or CloudFormation)
• Hands-on container orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes; AKS/EKS/GKE) and serverless platforms
• Solid software engineering skills; proficient in Python, C#, TypeScript/Node.js or Java; able to build/consume REST/gRPC APIs
• Experience with CI/CD and DevOps/GitOps, including automated testing and security scanning
• Strong security posture: IAM, key management, encryption, private networking, data residency, GDPR compliance
• Experience integrating managed AI/model services and building data pipelines
• Ability to lead a workstream, mentor engineers, and communicate complex designs to diverse audiences
• Experience in regulated financial services projects and external client delivery
