Overview
As a Cloud Engineer in Reply’s Defence and Security team, you design, deploy, and maintain secure Oracle Cloud infrastructure for mission-critical systems. You work with DevOps and security colleagues to build resilient, scalable cloud solutions and ensure compliance with government standards. This role offers OCI-focused training and opportunities to influence secure cloud practices in a national security context. You will collaborate across technical teams and influence cloud strategy at scale.
Responsibilities- Deploy, configure, and manage Oracle Cloud resources (compute, storage, networking)
- Write and maintain infrastructure-as-code scripts with Terraform, Ansible, or shell scripting
- Monitor performance, troubleshoot incidents, and support recovery
- Support cloud security practices and regulatory compliance
- Assist in backup and disaster recovery design
- Collaborate with DevOps, security, and software teams for CI/CD pipelines
- Document cloud environments, configurations, and procedures
- Engage in continuous learning on Oracle Cloud services and tools
- 2–6 years in cloud engineering, infrastructure, platform engineering, systems administration, DevOps, or related roles
- Practical experience with at least one major cloud platform (AWS, Azure, OCI, or GCP)
- Prior OCI experience is beneficial but training will be provided
- Understanding of networking, VMs, OS, IAM, storage, and security principles
- Scripting experience (Bash, Python, or PowerShell) and IaC tools (Terraform, Ansible)
- Familiarity with Git, CI/CD tools, and modern software delivery (Jenkins, Kubernetes, Azure DevOps, GitHub) is advantageous
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and teamwork
- Degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Cyber Security, IT, Engineering, or related discipline; professional certifications encouraged
- Must be eligible to obtain UK Security Check (SC) clearance
