Cloud Finops Consultant

In this contract role you optimise and assess Azure and AWS environments to cut costs and improve governance. You will shape a unified multi-cloud platform and codify engineering practices, working with both technical and business stakeholders. You’ll communicate findings clearly and track savings as you deliver key improvements. This role offers remote work and a hands-on path to influence cloud strategy and cost governance.

• Review Azure and AWS environments to establish usage and spend baselines
• Identify and remove redundant resources and rightsize compute, databases and storage
• Assess environments against the Well Architected Framework for reliability, security and efficiency
• Design a target-state multi-cloud architecture with ADRs and high-level designs
• Develop standardised patterns, tagging, policy-as-code guardrails, and IaC modules
• Create dashboards to monitor spend, usage, and platform health with budgets and alerts
• Review RI and savings plan options for further cost optimisation
• Review cloud agreements, pricing, partner arrangements and margins
• Establish cost allocation models and governance processes to track savings
• Communicate findings in business-friendly language and own delivery of architecture improvements
• Contribute to roadmap and ensure smooth knowledge transfer and handover

• Azure and AWS experience
• FinOps and cloud cost optimization experience
• Experience with architecture design and ADRs
• Knowledge of IaC and policy-as-code practices
• Ability to create dashboards and governance models
