Cloud & Infrastructure Manager - Interim

MCS Group is seeking an experienced Cloud & Infrastructure Manager to oversee critical technology services, maintain operational stability and drive improvements across a broad IT environment.

This is a hands‑on interim management role suited to someone who can combine technical knowledge with strong people and technical leadership, assess existing systems and establish a clear plan for future development.

The Role

• Oversee day‑to‑day IT operations, ensuring systems and services remain secure, stable and reliable.
• Lead technical teams and coordinate external suppliers to maintain effective service delivery.
• Review existing systems, infrastructure and security arrangements, identifying risks and areas for improvement.
• Develop a long‑term technology improvement road‑map aligned with business needs and available resources.
• Establish practical plans to improve service performance, operational processes and governance.
• Support and develop team members through coaching, knowledge sharing and skills development.
• Manage supplier relationships and contribute to procurement and contract management.
• Ensure effective documentation and handover, leaving a clear plan for ongoing improvements.

The Person

• Significant management experience across IT infrastructure, cloud services and information security.
• Experience overseeing IT operations in a complex organisation.
• Proven ability to assess existing technology and deliver practical improvements.
• Strong people leadership and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience managing technical teams and third‑party service providers.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving and decision‑making abilities.

Desirable experience:

• Technology strategy and road‑map development.

Contract Details

• Duration : 6 months
• Pay rate : £33.16 per hour (Salary equivalent: £63,795 per annum)
• Location : Belfast (Hybrid- 2 days per week on site in Belfast is required, with additional on‑site working expected during the initial phase of the assignment)
