Overview

In this role you will be the hands-on technical resource for Portworx deployments across UK/EMEA, supporting design, deployment, and day-2 operations. You’ll work with Delivery and Solution Architects and partners to ensure customers extract maximum value from Portworx Enterprise, PX-Backup, PX-DR, and related virtualization engagements. The role is customer-facing, demanding strong Kubernetes, containerization, and DevOps skills to manage production environments under pressure. It offers exposure to cutting-edge cloud-native storage tech and a clear path to impact across enterprise deployments.

Responsibilities
  • Design and assist with architecture workshops; capture customer requirements and as-is environments
  • Identify integration points with Kubernetes, storage, and backups; document design decisions
  • Plan HA/DR, scalability, and security configurations; translate needs into actionable plans
  • Design, install, configure, and maintain Kubernetes clusters and Portworx solutions
  • Deploy and operate Portworx components across OpenShift, Rancher, VKS, and other orchestrators
  • Lead day-2 operations, monitoring, and observability; support CI/CD and IaC workflows
  • Serve as initial Portworx support contact; drive issue resolution with product & support teams
  • Provide knowledge transfer and training to customer teams; maintain stakeholder communication
  • Collaborate with delivery partners and customer teams to standardize repeatable procedures
Key requirements
  • 10+ years in production Kubernetes deployment and troubleshooting
  • Experience with DevOps practices and cloud-native tech
  • Experience delivering to enterprise customers on-site
  • Proficiency deploying and troubleshooting Kubernetes with OpenShift/Rancher/Mirantis or similar
  • Linux system administration (RHEL/SLES/Debian/Ubuntu)
  • Networking basics and storage concepts; familiarity with NFS/Block/iSCSI
  • CI/CD and IaC tooling (Jenkins, GitOps, Terraform, Ansible, Chef, Puppet)
  • Cloud IaaS familiarity (AWS, Azure, GCP)
  • Backup/DR and object storage knowledge
  • Bachelor's Degree in related field or equivalent experience
  • Attention to detail; strong troubleshooting under pressure
  • Effective on-site consultant with stakeholders
  • Clear communication with technical and business audiences
  • Kubernetes deployment, config, and troubleshooting
  • Experience with OpenShift, Rancher, Mirantis, or similar
  • Linux system administration
