Overview

As a Cobol Developer, you will build and maintain software solutions for a leading financial technology client in the asset management sector. You’ll work within a Scrum team, collaborating closely with clients and cross-functional peers to translate specifications into reliable systems. Expect to tackle a range of technical and business challenges with a strong emphasis on quality, problem solving, and timely delivery. This role offers client engagement opportunities and scope to take ownership of significant projects in a dynamic fintech environment.

Responsibilities
  • Develop new software aligned with client specifications
  • Review client specifications and provide development estimates
  • Build and test software to ensure system integrity
  • Manage defects and contribute to solution testing
  • Participate in Scrum team activities and collaborative delivery
  • Work independently while contributing to a team-oriented culture
Key requirements
  • Minimum 2 years of commercial COBOL experience
  • COBOL with embedded SQL coding
  • Education to degree level
  • Experience with COBOL.NET
  • Experience with VB.NET / .NET
  • Experience using GitLab
  • Experience with IBMi
  • Experience with SQL Server
  • Experience with Open technologies
  • Exposure to Agile methodologies
