Working Pattern: AWE operates a 9-day working fortnight, with every other Friday as a non-working day. This role is eligible for hybrid working, typically involving three days on site in a long week and two days in a short week. The Commercial Data Analytics Manager leads the strategic and operational management of commercial data across AWE. This role is critical in ensuring data accuracy, availability, and actionable insights to drive effective commercial decision-making within the Commercial team, especially regarding third-party spend incurred by AWE. The manager reports to the Principal Commercial Performance, Insights & Reporting Manager.
Key Accountabilities
- Ensuring Commercial teams have access to timely, accurate, and relevant data to meet performance and strategic objectives.
- Managing master data for all commercial information, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and integrity across systems.
- Overseeing the data lifecycle and ensuring seamless data flow across systems.
- Implementing data protocols, cleansing, and maintenance to provide usable data for Commercial colleagues.
- Liaising between Commercial, IT, Finance, and other relevant teams to align data strategy with business needs.
- Managing the Commercial Data Team.
Candidate Profile
While not an exhaustive list, the ideal candidate will have experience in some of the following areas:
- Compliance with relevant legislation and regulations.
- Proven professional experience.
- Experience in a Procurement or Commercial function.
- Experience in data operations and/or commercial analytics.
- Managing large datasets, data transformation, and business intelligence tools.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Proficiency in SQL, Excel, and visualization platforms such as Power BI or Tableau.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of translating technical insights into business language.
- Detail-oriented with a proactive approach to problem-solving and process improvements.
