Communications Test Engineer I

In this role you own the integration and verification of space-communication systems, focusing on baseband and RF-level validation. You will develop test software and setups for modem/link verification, working across DSP/HW/SW teams to enhance performance. You operate in a hands-on, cross-functional environment where meticulous analysis and end-to-end system thinking matter. This position supports the company’s mission to advance space-grade communications and instrumentation. You will be part of a collaborative team that values initiative, precision, and impactful testing.
Responsibilities- Define, design, and maintain measurement/test solutions for link/modem validation
- Perform calibration and metrology analyses (statistical error analysis, confidence levels, error budgets)
- Develop modular, reusable software in Python for diverse setups
- Analyze and troubleshoot link-performance issues
- Collaborate with DSP/HW/SW teams to improve system performance
- Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Physics
- 2+ years of RF measurement and instrumentation experience
- 2+ years of Python programming experience
