Overview
In this role you help build the compiler and runtime stack for fault-tolerant quantum computing at Riverlane. You will design and ship tools that enable researchers and hardware partners to write and run fault-tolerant programs on quantum hardware. You’ll work with scientists and engineers to implement new QEC codes and runtimes, contributing to a fast-moving, open-source quantum software stack. You’ll thrive in a collaborative, learning-focused environment shaping next-generation quantum software.

- Design and build system tools (compilers, emulators, profilers, debuggers)
- Write correct and maintainable code
- Build the software stack for error-corrected quantum computing systems
- Collaborate with scientists and engineers to implement new error-correcting codes and runtimes for decoders
- Curiosity to learn new things
- Experience collaborating with diverse teams
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
- Broad knowledge of software and hardware stack (compilers, OS, computer architectures)
- Interest or experience in compilers (LLVM MLIR or others)
- Experience delivering under deadlines
- Proficiency in Python; proficiency in C++ or Rust
