Overview

In this role you help build the compiler and runtime stack for fault-tolerant quantum computing at Riverlane. You will design and ship tools that enable researchers and hardware partners to write and run fault-tolerant programs on quantum hardware. You’ll work with scientists and engineers to implement new QEC codes and runtimes, contributing to a fast-moving, open-source quantum software stack. You’ll thrive in a collaborative, learning-focused environment shaping next-generation quantum software.

Responsibilities
  • Design and build system tools (compilers, emulators, profilers, debuggers)
  • Write correct and maintainable code
  • Build the software stack for error-corrected quantum computing systems
  • Collaborate with scientists and engineers to implement new error-correcting codes and runtimes for decoders
Key requirements
  • Curiosity to learn new things
  • Experience collaborating with diverse teams
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Broad knowledge of software and hardware stack (compilers, OS, computer architectures)
  • Interest or experience in compilers (LLVM MLIR or others)
  • Experience delivering under deadlines
  • Proficiency in Python; proficiency in C++ or Rust
  • Interest in the quantum open-source ecosystem
