Responsibilities
  • Provide technical leadership to a team of research engineers and specialists; mentor and guide across levels on composite manufacturing technologies
  • Lead development and optimisation of composite manufacturing processes, including material selection, tooling methods, and supplier/product techniques
  • Drive innovation to enhance performance and reduce manufacturing costs
  • Ensure compliance with TRL processes, aerospace quality standards, and regulatory requirements
  • Technically lead strategically important projects with progress, budget, and schedule oversight
  • Collaborate with design, engineering, and production teams to integrate composite technologies
  • Provide training and mentorship to junior engineers and technicians
  • Address technical challenges systematically to improve manufacturing efficiency and product quality
Key requirements
  • Extensive aerospace experience in composite component manufacturing process development
  • Proven track record of significant contributions in composite manufacturing, especially engine structures
  • In-depth knowledge of composite materials properties, manufacturing techniques, and industry standards
  • Strong leadership and project management abilities with experience leading cross-functional teams
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to convey complex technical information clearly
  • Proven problem-solving skills to resolve manufacturing process issues
  • Extensive academic and industrial network in composite process manufacturing development
