Overview

In this Configuration Engineer role you act as the custodian of engineering data on a major infrastructure project. You will support configuration management processes, coordinate changes, and ensure records remain accurate and traceable. You’ll work closely with engineering teams and stakeholders to resolve queries and drive on-time delivery. This position emphasizes data-driven ways of working and consistent design information across the project lifecycle. It offers the chance to shape how complex engineering data is managed on large-scale assets and to contribute to sustainable transformation.

Responsibilities
  • Supporting the implementation and delivery of Configuration Management processes across the project
  • Acting as a key point of contact for engineering teams on configuration and change control activities
  • Coordinating engineering changes and ensuring actions are followed through to completion
  • Working closely with stakeholders to resolve technical queries and open points
  • Maintaining configuration records and supporting configuration assurance activities
  • Monitoring and steering configuration-related actions to ensure project requirements are met
  • Supporting design handover activities and ensuring configuration control is maintained throughout the project lifecycle
  • Contributing to the development and improvement of efficient, data-driven ways of working.
Key requirements
  • 2-4 years' experience within an engineering, technical or project-based environment
  • Degree in Engineering, Science or a related technical discipline
  • Strong organisational and coordination skills
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
  • Ability to manage multiple activities and priorities simultaneously
  • Methodical and process-oriented mindset
  • Strong attention to detail
  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, or equivalentmilitary experience.
