Construction Project Accountant

Construction accounting expertise meets project cost control at Axiom Builders across Metro Vancouver, Victoria, Calgary, Toronto, Seattle, and Nashville. This is an 18-month contract.

As a Construction Accountant, you will maintain financial accuracy, project budgets, and performance through effective accounting practices. You will work independently while collaborating with project managers, subcontractors, and internal teams. The position requires project accounting, job costing, Excel, and ERP experience.

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor project costs and align coding with approved budgets
• Process subcontractor invoices, change orders, and holdbacks
• Prepare monthly progress billing invoices under contractual requirements
• Post cash receipts and follow up on overdue accounts
• Support close processes, reconciliations, forecasts, and financial reports

Requirements:

• Two to three years of project accounting experience
• Job costing experience, preferably within construction
• Accounting, Finance, or related degree or diploma
• Intermediate Microsoft Excel proficiency
• Acumatica, Sage, or Timberline ERP experience

Support Axiom Builders projects through accurate accounting, cost forecasting, billing, reconciliations, and subcontractor account coordination.
