Construction Project Accountant

Construction accounting expertise meets project cost control in this 18-month contract. Use Excel, job costing, and budget monitoring to protect financial accuracy.

As a Construction Accountant, you will support project teams and cross-functional teams through effective accounting practices. The position focuses on financial organization, project performance, and strong working relationships. You will work independently while contributing to collaboration with project managers, subcontractors, and internal teams.

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor project costs against approved budgets
• Review subcontractor invoices, change orders, and holdbacks
• Prepare monthly progress billing invoices
• Complete reconciliations, forecasting, and project reports
• Coordinate construction holdback releases with stakeholders

Requirements:

• Two to three years of project accounting experience
• Job costing experience, preferably in construction
• Accounting, Finance, or related degree or diploma
• Intermediate Microsoft Excel proficiency
• Acumatica, Sage, or Timberline experience
