Overview

As a Consulting Engineer at Cisco’s CX team, you design and implement sophisticated data centre and networking solutions that accelerate customer outcomes. You will work with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable, robust services and apply emerging AI and automation to streamline delivery. You’ll analyze performance and identify optimization opportunities while contributing to repeatable delivery frameworks. This role blends deep technical practice with shaping product roadmaps and advancing digital transformation for large, complex environments.

Responsibilities
  • Design and implement cutting-edge Cisco Data Centre technologies for large, complex networks
  • Leverage innovative technology to deliver scalable and robust services
  • Integrate AI and automation to automate deployment and support infrastructure-as-code
  • Analyze and optimize network performance for efficiency and capability improvements
  • Provide deep technical support across data centre technologies for complex problems
  • Develop digital intellectual capital and repeatable delivery frameworks
  • Provide feedback to Engineering and Product teams to influence roadmaps
Key requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent with 7+ years of relevant customer-facing technical consulting, pre-sales, or service delivery experience
  • Deep knowledge of L2/L3 networking protocols and technologies (vPC, STP, HSRP, OSPF, EIGRP, BGP) with hands-on Nexus 2K/5K/7K/9K experience
  • Design and deployment experience of Data Centre solutions including DC standalone Nexus, VXLAN Fabric, and ACI Fabric (ACI MultiPod/Multisite/Remote Leaf)
  • Experience integrating network services appliances (firewalls, IPS, load balancers, WAN optimizers)
  • Professional-level certifications (e.g., CCNP, Cisco DevNet) or equivalent (e.g., VCP)
  • Strong communication and planning skills
  • Self-motivated with a focus on execution
  • Collaborative mindset and ability to work with cross-functional teams
  • Network design and deployment (Data Centre)
  • L2/L3 routing and switching protocols
  • Nexus 2K/5K/7K/9K platform experience
