Contract C ++ Developer
ANDigital
In this contract role, you will contribute as an Embedded C++ Engineer in an in-house backend team for a regulated medical technology product. You will own a self-contained area from design to tested, documented code, influencing alarms, data persistence, and service functionality. Collaboration with the Software Architect and peers will shape delivery and quality in a safety-critical environment. The role emphasizes deterministic behavior, rigorous testing, and formal quality processes, offering meaningful impact in medical tech.
Responsibilities- Own a software area from design through delivery and documentation
- Develop alarms, data persistence, startup supervision, and service functionality for a medical device
- Implement fault handling, watchdog integration, and system supervision
- Develop logging, auditing, and log rotation; support data back-fill and historic data presentation
- Ensure power management, graceful shutdown, and software updates with rollback
- Work with Linux-based safety-critical systems and formal engineering processes
- Strong C++17 experience on embedded Linux
- RAII, std::atomic, multithreading and either lock-free or bounded queues
- Deterministic, reliable software in safety-critical contexts
- Allocation-free or low-allocation runtimes with pre-allocated memory
- Experience with hexagonal architecture, interfaces, and dependency injection
- Linux systems integration (services, watchdog, fault management)
- IPC and serialization (FlatBuffers, Unix-domain sockets, named pipes)
- CMake, automated testing, CI/CD; cross-compilation for aarch64
- Unit testing, code coverage, quality gates; safe software development practices
