Contract Full Stack Developer (Commodities)

Project: Trading applications (Azure/Databricks)

Location: London, hybrid (3 days per week)

Contract: 6 months initial (multi-year scope)

X4 Technology are partnered with a leading commodity trading firm offering the opportunity for a contract Full Stack Developer to join their Trading technology team.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Full Stack Developer to design, develop and deliver scalable, high-performance applications, working across both front-end and back-end technologies

Responsibilities for the contract Full Stack Developer (Commodities)

• Design, develop and deliver scalable full-stack applications, APIs, microservices and integrations across the Trading landscape
• Leverage Azure and Databricks to build robust, high-performing solutions, with a focus on scalability, reliability and performance
• Contribute to technical architecture, solution design and reusable engineering patterns, while maintaining high coding and development standards
• Own CI/CD pipelines, automated deployments, monitoring and performance optimisation, ensuring solutions are reliable and production-ready
• Partner with Product Owners, Designers and engineering teams, contributing to Agile delivery, code reviews and technical decision-making

Requirements for the contract Full Stack Developer (Commodities)

• Strong experience building REST APIs / GraphQL, microservices and integrations, with a good understanding of scalable and event-driven architectures
• Hands-on experience with Azure, alongside strong SQL/database knowledge and exposure to Databricks or modern data platforms
• Proven experience with CI/CD, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps or Jenkins, with Docker/Kubernetes and cloud-native development considered a strong advantage
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills, with experience working in Agile/Scrum environments, collaborating with stakeholders and taking ownership of technical delivery
