Contract Lead Azure Platform Engineer

In this contract role, you will design and deliver an enterprise-scale Azure platform for a high-profile AI & Data programme. You’ll own the greenfield environment, ensuring it integrates with on-premises systems while enabling future AI capabilities. You will provide technical leadership and shape the platform roadmap alongside senior stakeholders. This role offers meaningful impact by building scalable cloud foundations that support rapid digital delivery and transformation.

• Design and implement enterprise-grade Azure landing zones for a greenfield environment.
• Lead discovery, design, and iterative development of the Azure platform.
• Build secure, scalable, and resilient cloud architectures aligned with enterprise best practices.
• Integrate Azure services with existing on-premise legacy estates.
• Collaborate with the Solution Director (AI & Data) and stakeholders to define the platform roadmap.
• Provide technical leadership and architectural guidance throughout the engagement.
• Support the adoption of Microsoft Fabric and associated Azure services where appropriate.

• Extensive experience architecting enterprise-scale solutions on Microsoft Azure.
• Proven expertise designing and implementing Azure Landing Zones within complex enterprise environments.
• Strong experience integrating Azure with on-premise infrastructure and legacy systems.
• Experience with Microsoft Fabric and its associated Azure services.
• Experience delivering greenfield cloud platforms from discovery to implementation.
• Ability to develop cloud platforms iteratively for immediate needs and long-term scalability.
