Central Florida | Onsite | Local Candidates Only!

We are seeking a driven, hands-on finance leader to step into a high-impact Controller role with a well-established, consistently growing manufacturing company. The organization has built a long record of success by investing in its people, its customers, and the long-term health of the business. This is a rare succession opportunity, with a structured multi-month transition designed to set the next Controller up for success from day one.

The company is looking for a systems-savvy professional who sees month-end close as a chance to sharpen accuracy, speed, and insight, not just a routine. There is significant room to modernize inventory accounting and reporting through automation, so the right candidate will leave a visible mark on how the business uses its financial data. The company pairs long-standing stability with a close-knit culture where leaders are accessible and contributions get noticed. Successful completion of background, drug, credit, and reference checks required!

Responsibilities:

  • Own the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close and deliver accurate, timely financial statements
  • Travel monthly to a regional facility to lead close meetings and partner with plant operations
  • Oversee payables and receivables to keep them accurate, timely, and well controlled
  • Lead, coach, and develop a small accounting team across multiple locations
  • Perform daily inventory and system reconciliations so records stay accurate and current
  • Support periodic physical inventory counts and the accounting adjustments that follow
  • Turn financial results into clear insights that help leadership move company goals forward
  • Partner with senior leadership to build the annual budget and set financial targets
  • Coordinate year-end audits with outside accounting firms
  • Serve as the accounting point of contact for annual insurance renewals
  • Act as the go-to expert on accounting systems, finding ways to streamline and automate workflows
  • Design automated dashboards and reports that improve visibility and reporting efficiency

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting required. MBA a plus
  • CPA preferred, but not required
  • Manufacturing, xhqgsiq including strong inventory costing, tracking, and reporting required
  • Proven experience leading month-end close and preparing financial statements
  • Advanced Excel skills required
  • Experience with business intelligence or reporting tools strongly preferred
  • A process improvement mindset and a track record of automating manual work
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with a creative eye for report design

Why You'll Love Working Here:

  • A stable, consistently growing company with a long history of success
  • Real opportunity to modernize and automate financial processes and reporting
  • A visible role with direct access to senior leadership
  • A close-knit, people-focused culture where your impact is recognized
