Overview
The Contract Controller will provide hands‑on leadership across accounting operations with a primary focus on improving processes, increasing efficiency, and strengthening controls. This role is ideal for a results‑driven finance leader who can quickly assess current‑state operations, identify gaps, and implement scalable solutions in a fast‑paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead day‑to‑day accounting operations including GL, month‑end close, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
- Assess existing accounting processes to identify inefficiencies, control gaps, and opportunities for automation and standardization.
- Design and implement streamlined workflows to improve close timelines, data accuracy, and cross‑functional collaboration.
- Partner with FP&A, operations, and leadership to ensure financial processes align with business objectives.
- Improve documentation, policies, and procedures to support consistency, audit readiness, and knowledge transfer.
- Strengthen internal controls and ensure compliance with GAAP and company policies.
- Support system enhancements, ERP optimization, and reporting improvements as needed.
- Provide mentorship and hands‑on support to accounting staff during transition or transformation periods.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA preferred.
- 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including Controller or Assistant Controller responsibilities.
- Proven experience driving process improvement, close acceleration, or accounting transformations.
- Strong working knowledge of GAAP, internal controls, and financial systems/ERPs.
- Ability to quickly ramp up, operate independently, and deliver measurable results in a contract environment.
- Manufacturing, distribution, or multi‑entity experience preferred.
