This is a rare opportunity to step into a senior, high-visibility finance seat at a company in growth mode, with real influence over financial strategy, controls, and the direction of the accounting function.

What Our Client Has to Offer

  • Competitive base salary of $120,000 - $150,000
  • Extended health and dental coverage
  • Life insurance and Employee Assistance Program

  • Safety boot allowance
  • A senior, high-impact role with direct exposure to executive leadership
  • The opportunity to shape financial systems and controls as the business grows

The Role

Reporting into executive leadership, the Controller will own the full accounting operation - from day-to-day transactional oversight through to financial strategy - across the company and its affiliated entities. You'll lead close and reporting, drive budgeting and forecasting, safeguard the business through strong internal controls, and act as a trusted financial partner to ownership and management.

What You'll Do

  • Oversee all accounting functions, including AP, AR, payroll, fixed assets, inventory, cash management, and the general ledger
  • Prepare and review financial statements across multiple Canadian and international entities
  • Lead month-end and year-end close processes
  • Build and deliver financial reporting packages for ownership and executive leadership
  • Analyze financial performance and recommend improvements to profitability and cash flow
  • Own the annual budgeting and forecasting cycle, including financial models supporting strategic initiatives
  • Track budget-to-actual performance and flag risks and opportunities
  • Ensure compliance with Canadian and US accounting standards and tax obligations
  • Design, implement, and monitor internal controls
  • Lead all external audits and government reporting requirements
  • Mentor and develop accounting team members
  • Drive process improvements and support ERP/system upgrades

What You Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or related field
  • CPA designation
  • 5 - 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 3 years in a senior accounting or leadership role
  • Manufacturing industry experience strongly preferred
  • Multi-entity or international accounting exposure considered an asset
  • Advanced Excel skills and strong ERP/accounting software experience
  • Experience with Sage 300 or similar systems considered an asset
  • Strong leadership, communication, and analytical abilities
