Century Group is partnering with a client that is seeking a Controller to assist their team. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. Expected starting pay rate of $70.00 to $80.00 per hour.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all accounting and financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, cash management, and compliance activities.
  • Prepare and present financial analyses, performance reports, and strategic recommendations to executive leadership and governing stakeholders.
  • Manage audit processes, coordinate with external auditors, and ensure timely completion of regulatory and financial reporting requirements.
  • Monitor restricted funding, grants, program expenditures, and organizational resources to ensure proper financial stewardship and reporting.
  • Lead finance staff, establish operational procedures, and drive process improvements to support organizational growth and efficiency.

Requirements:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of progressive accounting and financial management experience with increasing leadership responsibilities.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, internal controls, and cash flow management.
  • Previous experience overseeing audits, financial compliance, general ledger accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and related finance functions.
  • Proven ability to develop financial reports, analyze business performance, and support strategic decision making.

Qualifications:

  • CPA, MBA, or other advanced financial credential preferred.
  • Prior experience within nonprofit, grant funded, mission driven, or regulated organizations.
  • Strong background managing government, donor funded, foundation, or multi source funding programs and related compliance requirements.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and presentation skills with the ability to explain complex financial information to diverse audiences.
  • Technology savvy professional with experience implementing financial systems, improving processes, and leading teams through organizational growth and change.
