About the Role

A growing consumer goods company is looking for a Controller to join their Markham team. This hands-on role is ideal for a CPA with Big 4 experience who thrives in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.

You'll bring strong technical accounting and financial reporting skills, while taking a hands-on approach across finance. This is an opportunity to wear multiple hats, work closely with the broader business, and play a key role in supporting continued growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Own the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accurate and timely reporting.
• Oversee full-cycle accounting, including general ledger, reconciliations, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, expenses, and related accounting activities.
• Prepare and oversee monthly financial reporting and management reporting packages.
• Develop and maintain global sales and business performance reports.
• Lead the budgeting and forecasting process and monitor performance against budget.
• Perform financial analysis and develop financial models to support business decisions.
• Provide financial insights and recommendations to senior leadership.
• Ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data and reporting.
• Support year-end audit and related external reporting requirements.
• Identify opportunities to improve finance processes, systems, controls, and reporting.
• Work cross-functionally with teams across the business to understand financial performance and provide commercial insight.
• Take ownership of ad hoc finance initiatives and projects as the business evolves.
• Manage and support one direct report.

Qualifications

• CPA designation is required.
• 3+ years of Big 4 experience, with at least 1 year at the Senior level or above.
• Experience within the consumer goods, retail, pharmaceutical, or technology industries would be ideal.
• Strong experience across financial reporting and full-cycle accounting.
• Strong analytical and financial modelling capabilities.
• Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and management reporting.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, changing environment with a high degree of ownership.
