Controller Accounting Operations Vancouver

Drive accounting operations and internal controls as Controller with BC Building Science Ltd., a growing professional engineering firm in Vancouver.

Reporting directly to the VP Finance and Corporate Services, you will lead core accounting processes and strengthen financial stewardship. This hands-on leadership role combines technical accounting, financial reporting, commercial analysis, and practical recommendations. You will collaborate with project managers, operational leaders, and senior management.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage accounting processes, reconciliations, and journal entries
• Ensure compliance with accounting, tax, and reporting obligations
• Provide variance analysis and actionable financial insights
• Monitor accounts receivable, cash flow, and working capital
• Supervise and mentor accounting team members

Requirements:

• CPA designation with good-standing Canadian provincial membership
• Seven-plus years in progressive accounting or finance roles
• Experience as Controller, Accounting Manager, or comparable leader
• Strong analytical, commercial, organizational, and communication skills
• High integrity, sound judgment, and commitment to accuracy
