Forge Consulting Group is representing a leading advanced automation and manufacturing solutions provider that designs and delivers innovative automation, robotics, machine vision, and production systems for modern manufacturing environments.


We are looking for a Controls Programmer to join their exciting and growing engineering team. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on controls professional to work on custom automation projects from programming and integration through machine startup and commissioning.


Key Responsibilities


  • Develop and troubleshoot PLC and HMI programs
  • Program using Rockwell, Schneider, and Siemens platforms
  • Develop ladder logic and machine control systems
  • Support machine startup, debugging, and commissioning
  • Work with electrical and pneumatic systems
  • Integrate robotics, machine vision, and automation systems
  • Read and interpret electrical and pneumatic drawings
  • Prepare technical documentation
  • Support multiple automation projects and priorities


Qualifications


  • 3+ years of controls/automation experience
  • Two-year technical diploma or four-year degree in a related field
  • Experience with:
  • Rockwell / Allen-Bradley – Studio 5000
  • FactoryTalk View Studio
  • Schneider – Unity
  • Siemens – TIA Portal
  • Strong PLC and HMI programming skills
  • Experience with machine startup and debugging
  • Ability to read electrical and pneumatic drawings
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Ability and willingness to travel as required
  • Robotics experience is an asset
  • Previous automation industry experience is preferred
