Core Database Internals Engineer

Build cloud-native database technology at Salesforce with distributed systems expertise, systems programming skills, and large-scale engineering experience.

This software engineering role focuses on core database internals and distributed systems. You will architect, develop, and test scalable products supporting Salesforce growth. The work spans complex, concurrent, resilient systems, with end-to-end ownership across design, implementation, monitoring, testing, deployment, and customer support.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design core distributed database system functionality
• Develop architectures solving complex scalability problems
• Improve system robustness and performance
• Implement functional and system tests
• Debug issues and conduct root cause analysis

Requirements:

• Computer Science degree or equivalent practical experience
• Six-plus years in systems or database internals programming
• Six-plus years designing and supporting large-scale systems
• Expertise in distributed computing and transactional protocols
• Strong Java or C programming skills
