Bell & Associates has been engaged to help our client recruit their next Corporate Controller. The Controller will be a critical member of the leadership team at a transformative stage of the company’s growth. This individual will serve as a strategic and operational leader within the accounting organization, responsible for driving accuracy, efficiency, and execution across all core financial processes. Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer, the Controller will oversee a team of direct reports and influence a broader group of decentralized accounting professionals across multiple business units. The role requires both hands-on leadership and the ability to design scalable systems and processes that support integration, compliance, and performance in a fast-growing enterprise.

Responsibilities

• Own the month-end close process, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and clear communication across all business units and locations.
• Oversee treasury operations, including bank relationships, cash management, and compliance with internal controls around liquidity.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP, with specific accountability for revenue recognition and percentage-of-completion accounting methodologies.
• Lead all external audits, managing deliverables, timelines, and budgets while strengthening audit readiness and minimizing risk.
• Drive successful business integrations, including opening balance sheets, ERP/system migrations, and harmonization of accounting processes.
• Deliver measurable improvements in Net Working Capital and Cash Flow, partnering with operational leaders to identify and execute working capital initiatives.
• Build and refine scalable processes and internal controls that strengthen compliance and support long-term growth in a decentralized, multi-site organization.
• Lead, develop, and mentor a high-performing team, including direct reports and a distributed network of accountants, fostering accountability, adaptability, and execution.
• Serve as a visible leader and communicator, actively contributing to leadership meetings, cross-functional initiatives, and training sessions.

Requirements

• 10-15 years of public/private corporate accounting experience
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field
• Master’s degree or CPA
• ASC606 / Percentage-of-Completion accounting
