Corporate Finance Intern (Winter 2027)

Dawson Partners (“Dawson”), based in Toronto, is a fast-growing private equity firm focused on accelerating liquidity on private equity portfolios through structured solutions. Dawson seeks to provide customized and flexible liquidity solutions for private equity investors through the use of structured solutions with existing investors or outright purchases of portfolios which are subsequently structured into different securities. The Corporate Finance team is seeking a Corporate Finance Intern starting in January 2027 at our Toronto office. The intern will have the opportunity to work alongside seasoned professionals in a high-performing entrepreneurial environment, helping with the daily operations of the management company.

We are looking for energetic, dynamic individuals who thrive in fast-paced and high-performance environments. Ideal candidates will be completing either a master’s or bachelor’s degree in accounting or business administration and have a demonstrated track record of curricular and extracurricular excellence.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Support the day-to-day operations of the corporate entities, including the full cycle accounting process.
  • Perform account reconciliations, review and investigate discrepancies, and prepare journal entries.
  • Assist in preparing financial statements and supporting schedules corporate entities.
  • Participate in the audit process, providing supporting information and documentation.
  • Support accounts payable and receivable processes, including intercompany billings, vendor payables, and contract payment processing.
  • Support the corporate credit card and expense program, including expense report review and onboarding new cardholders.
  • Support tax compliance, including data compilation for the income tax provision and preparation of sales tax returns.
  • Assist with ad hoc analysis and special projects as required.

Education/Certification:

  • Exceptional academic record.
  • Extracurricular leadership.
  • Expected graduation in 2027 (or 2028).
