COUPA Technical/Functional Lead

Overview

In this role you will lead COUPA architecture development and major upgrades, ensuring the platform meets global finance needs. You will build deep COUPA expertise to influence data and application design while aligning with long-term technical vision. You will partner with SAP and MuleSoft teams to define end‑to‑end flows and drive robust, tested solutions. You will act as a standards advocate, coordinate across internal and external teams, and own progress reporting for finance initiatives. This is a hands-on, collaborative position within SIE IT Foundational Services.

Responsibilities
  • Lead design and development of new COUPA architecture and major functional upgrades
  • Build deep expertise of COUPA application suite to inform data and application frameworks
  • Adhere to iterative COUPA development to deliver value and guide long-term technical vision
  • Advise on architecture standards and patterns with strong communication
  • Participate in defect analysis for maintenance releases to resolve issues
  • Own prioritization and reporting of progress against Finance initiatives
  • Collaborate with SAP and MuleSoft teams to define end-to-end flow requirements
  • Validate delivery approaches with testing and documentation
  • Contribute to interface design and assist with integration testing
  • Coordinate with internal and third-party teams to troubleshoot SAP platform production issues
Key requirements
  • Hands-on COUPA configurations and administration with understanding of SAP financial tables
  • Experience across requirements definition, solution design, build, testing, to live operation
  • COUPA and COUPA marketplace products knowledge
  • SAP S4/HANA analytics and reporting via SAP/COUPA platforms
  • Purchasing integrations with Finance functional areas
  • Experience working with offshore/nearshore service providers
  • Ability to collaborate in a matrix organization
  • Strong influencing and negotiation skills with senior stakeholders
  • Excellent written, verbal, social, and decision-making abilities
  • Self-motivated, highly organized, able to work under pressure
