CPA - Manager

We are a ten-person CPA firm in North York serving a long-standing client base of successful owner-managed businesses and their shareholders.

We are looking for an experienced CPA with a minimum of five years of Canadian public accounting experience who is capable of independently managing a portfolio of small-business clients.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will:

• Manage a significant client base of owner-managed business clients and clients with substantial investment portfolios.
• Prepare and review compilation engagements and year-end financial statements.
• Prepare and review T2 corporate income tax returns.
• Prepare and review T1 personal income tax returns.
• Handle GST/HST filings and related issues.
• Assist clients with CRA inquiries, reviews and correspondence.
• Provide practical tax and accounting advice to business owners.
• Review bookkeeping and working papers and identify required adjustments.
• Manage client deadlines and ensure information is obtained and files are completed on time.
• Communicate directly with clients regarding their accounting, tax and business matters.
• Supervise and provide guidance to junior accounting and bookkeeping staff where required.
