CPU Performance Modelling Architect

In this role, you contribute to CPU microarchitecture performance modelling and cycle-accurate simulator development within AMD’s Core Performance Architecture Modelling team. You’ll analyze workloads, correlate RTL-to-performance models, and help define features that optimize high-performance CPU performance. You’ll collaborate with hardware and software engineers to push innovation in HPC and pre-silicon analysis. This is a hands-on position that shapes architectural features and benchmarking, with tangible impact on AMD’s next-generation products. You will join a mission-driven environment focused on engineering excellence and scalable performance.
Responsibilities- Develop cycle-accurate core microarchitecture performance simulator development
- Conduct workload and trace analysis to inform model accuracy
- Perform microarchitecture development and RTL-to-performance model correlation
- Collaborate with hardware and software engineers to implement novel features
- Partner with design teams to define architectural features and improve methodologies
- Proficiency in C++ and scripting languages
- Background in computer architecture from academic study or industry
- Experience with cycle-accurate microarchitecture performance simulator development
- Experience with pre-silicon performance analysis
- Knowledge of computing software including operating systems, compilers, and applications
