Overview

In this role, you lead the Credit Principal Algo Data team to design and build a scalable data platform for automated trading analytics. You partner with Algo Quant Trading, Trading and Sales to turn ideas into production data products that drive revenue. You will shape the data backbone for AI-enabled trading workflows, ensuring reliability and cross-functional collaboration. This is a highly technical, fast-paced environment with a focus on automation, performance, and trustworthy data.

Responsibilities
  • Design and develop the data platform and next-generation data infrastructure
  • Lead end-to-end delivery from ideation to production launch in collaboration with Algo Quant Trading, Trading and Sales
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with cross-functional partners (Quants, Risk, IT) in London and beyond
  • Drive production-grade data pipelines with emphasis on reliability, observability, and CI/CD for data products
  • Ensure scalable, accurate analytics via optimized data models and storage layers (Delta, SQL, Spark)
  • Support AI-enabled improvements to delivery workflows and reduce context switching for teams
Key requirements
  • 8+ years hands-on data engineering in production
  • Strong Python, reliable and well-tested systems
  • Design/operate large-scale ETL/ELT pipelines with orchestration (Airflow, Prefect)
  • Azure experience (AKS, Helm, EventHub, Log Analytics) and IaC (Terraform)
  • Delta tables at scale with transaction semantics and schema evolution
  • Production-grade PostgreSQL knowledge (tuning, partitioning, replication)
  • Strong KDB experience (tp/ctp/rdb/hdb, gateways)
  • Containerised workloads with Docker/Kubernetes
  • Analytical data modelling (dimensional models, data vaults)
  • Experience with visualization/data analytics tools (JupyterHub, PowerBI, Streamlit, Marimo)
  • Batch and streaming processing, late data handling and latency considerations
  • CI/CD for data pipelines and data reliability mindset
  • 2+ years Java experience (including React-based apps)
  • Experience delivering AI-enhanced business solutions and AI-assisted development
