Overview

In this role you lead a global technology team focused on building cutting-edge applications for cross-asset trading and risk management. You will drive performance improvements and database modernization while mentoring a large group of developers and technologists. The position combines hands-on coding with strategic leadership to scale the tech function in a growing financial services business. You’ll work closely with Quant Analysts to align technology with firm-wide risk and trading objectives.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage a global team of 20 Developers and 20 technologists
  • Oversee all aspects of technology delivery, architecture and product development
  • Drive realtime performance improvements and modernisation of databases
  • Provide dotted-line leadership to Quant Analysts and collaborate with cross-functional teams
  • Shaping and delivering cutting-edge applications and services for cross-asset trading and risk management
  • Balance hands-on coding with strategic leadership to support growth (team expansion by ~10)
  • Mentor and develop engineering talent and engineering practices
Key requirements
  • BSc (ideally MSc) in Computer Science, Mathematics, Finance or other technical discipline
  • Mentoring or management experience
  • Strong software analysis, design and development skills
  • Strong understanding of trading or risk software
  • Experience in financial services
  • Knowledge of pricing and options theory (basic)
  • Strong coding ability with recent hands-on experience in C++ or C#
  • Knowledge of relational databases and SQL
  • Experience in finance and capital markets
