Cybersecurity Manager

Cybersecurity Advisor contract open now! Agilus by Synergie is recruiting for a Cybersecurity Manager in the oil and gas sector in a hybrid work environment in Calgary, Alberta.

A typical day:

• Provide cybersecurity leadership and guidance to support business and project objectives.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to assess, implement, and maintain effective security controls.
• Ensure solutions comply with cybersecurity standards while balancing operational needs.
• Evaluate risks, identify gaps or exceptions, and recommend improvements to strengthen security.
• Promote Zero Trust and security architecture best practices through stakeholder collaboration, governance support, and ongoing industry research.

Successful candidates will have:

• Knowledge of, or hands-on experience with security technologies of the following functions: NGFW, VPN, IPS/IDS, vulnerability management, access management, SIEM, endpoint security, threat intelligence, governance, risk and compliance (GRC), offensive security, penetration testing, red & purple teaming
• 10+ years of experience in cybersecurity, IT security, security architecture, or a related technical discipline.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Security, or a related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
• Strong knowledge of cybersecurity principles, technologies, and best practices, including risk management, security controls, cloud security, and governance.
• Industry recognized certifications such as CISSP, GCIP, GICSP, CSSA, CCSP, Azure/AWS security, TOGAF or other industry recognized cybersecurity certification preferred.
• Proven ability to influence stakeholders, collaborate across teams, and communicate complex security concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
