Dacorum Climate Action Network Coordinator

In this role you drive the growth and embedding of the DCAN as a self-sustaining, community-embedded network. You will lead engagement, communications, events and partnerships to support the Council’s climate emergency objectives. You’ll work with cross‑functional teams and communities, presenting progress to senior leaders and committees. The position is hybrid, with on-site duties in Hemel Hempstead and regular community presence, offering a meaningful chance to shape local climate action.

• Lead the development, growth and mobilisation of DCAN to become self-sustaining and representative
• Plan, deliver and evaluate engagement activities, communications and partnerships
• Manage and support council- and community-based campaigns and initiatives
• Coordinate reporting, monitoring and evaluation and present findings to senior management and councillors
• Lead communication activities related to the council’s climate and ecological emergency efforts
• Attend meetings and committees, producing reports and updates on DCAN activities
• Support delivery of the CEE Strategy through external engagement and promotion
• Work collaboratively in a team and manage multiple relationships to meet deadlines
• Ensure compliance with governance and DBS checks as required
• Possibly attend community events and work flexible hours including some out-of-hours work

• Excellent analytical, organisational and communication skills
• Experience in moving projects forward and driving change across communities and organisations
• Comfortable working in a political environment and maintaining multiple relationships
• Driving licence valid in the UK
• Basic DBS check
• Ability to produce reports for senior management and councillors
