We currently have an opportunity for a Data Analyst, Mobility Insights & Road Safety to join the Road Safety Data Services team.
This role supports the development and delivery of ICBC's Mobility Insights Strategy and broader road safety initiatives by transforming data, research, and stakeholder input into meaningful insights that support evidence-based decision-making.
Working closely with business leaders, analysts, technical specialists, and external partners, the successful candidate will help deliver mobility insights, support stakeholder engagement activities, contribute to information-sharing and governance initiatives, and assist in the development of analytical products, reports, and decision-support materials.
This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to road safety, mobility, and transportation initiatives that support safer and more sustainable mobility outcomes across British Columbia.


Job Responsibilities


Research, Analysis & Insight Delivery



  • Analyze data, research, and stakeholder input to identify trends, risks, opportunities, and emerging issues in road safety, mobility, and transportation.

  • Develop reports, dashboards, presentations, decision‑support materials, and recurring mobility insight products.

  • Track program outcomes, performance measures, evaluation frameworks, and benefits realization.


Stakeholder Engagement & Project Delivery



  • Support stakeholder workshops, interviews, consultations, needs assessments, and collaborative planning.

  • Document outcomes, decisions, action items, and follow-up activities.

  • Coordinate project plans, work tracking, and delivery across multiple initiatives.

  • Build effective relationships with internal and external partners.


Data Governance & Information Sharing



  • Support data sharing, governance, privacy, stewardship, access, metadata, and information management.

  • Maintain agreements, inventories, governance processes, documentation, and knowledge assets.

  • Coordinate partner data-sharing discussions and workshops.


Continuous Improvement



  • Improve reporting, processes, information products, templates, and knowledge resources.

  • Monitor mobility and road safety trends, leading practices, and stakeholder needs.

  • Promote collaboration, innovation, and evidence-based decision-making.


Position Requirements


Core Qualifications



  • Experience in research, analytics, reporting, or business analysis, including translating data into actionable insights.

  • Strong analytical, critical‑thinking, communication, organization, coordination, and attention‑to‑detail skills.

  • Experience supporting multi‑stakeholder projects and preparing reports, presentations, and briefing materials.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.


Knowledge & Expertise


Required knowledge



  • Knowledge of research, data interpretation, reporting, business analysis, and problem‑solving methods.

  • Knowledge of stakeholder engagement, facilitation, performance measurement, information management, and data governance.

  • Knowledge of transportation, mobility, road safety, or public‑sector environments is an asset.


Technical and professional experience



  • Experience with SQL, Excel, and data analysis tools.

  • Experience with Tableau, Power BI, QuickSight, or similar reporting platforms.

  • Experience preparing reports and presentations, coordinating workshops and stakeholders, and maintaining project documentation.


Education & Experience



  • Undergraduate degree in Business, Economics, Geography, Transportation Planning, Public Policy, Statistics, Data Analytics, Social Sciences, or a related discipline.

  • Experience in analytics, research, business analysis, reporting, project coordination, consulting, or a related field.

  • Experience with large datasets, analytical tools, transportation, mobility, road safety, government, insurance, infrastructure, or public‑sector environments is an asset.

  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.


Position Information


Road Safety Data Services supports evidence-based decision-making through road safety analytics, mobility insights, performance measurement, data governance, research, and stakeholder engagement. The team works with internal and external partners to understand transportation and road safety challenges, evaluate interventions, identify emerging risks, and improve mobility outcomes across British Columbia.
