In this Analyst role, you will use data to understand how Guardian journalism reaches readers and informs newsroom and business decisions. You’ll build contextual knowledge of editorial workflows and audience behavior to interpret insights effectively. You will communicate findings clearly to diverse audiences and collaborate with Product and Engineering to support feature development and performance analysis. You will work responsibly with data, upholding privacy and governance standards. This is a chance to shape editorial strategy in a diverse, mission-driven newsroom that values evidence-driven storytelling.

- Provide insights on reader engagement and content performance to inform newsroom strategy
- Develop understanding of editorial workflows, audience behaviour and business priorities, and apply this context when interpreting data
- Communicate findings clearly, tailoring outputs to different audiences and explaining context and limitations
- Collaborate with Product, Engineering and other teams to support feature development, experimentation and performance analysis
- Work responsibly and ethically with data, following privacy and governance standards
- Experience working with data using SQL
- Understanding of core analytical concepts (e.g. averages, distributions, basic statistical testing)
- Familiarity with data visualisation tools (e.g. Tableau, Looker)
- Ability to think logically about problems and break them down into manageable analyses
